So what is everyone doing this weekend ?  Do you normally celebrate the 4th and get out of town or do you normally stay home ?  Has the high cost of fuel made you change your plans ? I normally don't do anything, and have always had to work..  I have had the past 3 days off so tonight if it doesn't rain I will sit on my back porch and watch the fireworks display..  This is something that I always have liked to do, even when I worked the night shift we would go outside and watch the fire works..  Of course things have changed with me since 9/11 and I always manage to well up, ALWAYS !  I just get very emotional.. Wed, 28 May 2008 23:02:33 -0000 Let The Waiting Begin I'm just another step closer to getting my CCW permit..  Went to our county Sheriff's Department Thursday, paid them the $100 they wanted, gave them my certificate that proved I had taken the CCW course, got fingerprinted and had my picture taken..  Now I wait on that..  She did 3 sets of prints which I had no clue would happen before hand..  No big deal just surprised.. When they were being enforced, a person could be arrested if someone was offended by their appearance. I’m wondering if the obnoxious odor law could be taken to that extreme.   I’m sure there would be a market for pocket sized sniffers that would set off an alarm when odor reached a certain level. Such a device would certainly eliminate cigar smokers from most neighborhoods along with most cat boxes. There is nothing more obnoxious than an overworked cat box. Of course the fact that only a couple of generations ago people worked twelve or more hours a day just to get by often gets forgotten..  With 90% of the population living in rural areas back then, most of the time was spent just trying to keep food on the table.. I suppose the main difference between now and then is people back then didn't have a choice..  The fact is, anyone wanting to live, as the pioneers did, in a home without running water or electricity, washing clothes in a tub, without phones, televisions, or computers, they wouldn't probably have lots of time..
